About the monitoring application

This service is meant to provide a view of nearly everything running and the impact it is having on the server. The more nitpick-y individuals will point out that we are not actually monitoring with this application and really just doing metrics collection and graphing. They would be correct.

This application has been configured to be as default as possible. The web service runs on localhost:19999 and is displayed using Apache with fairly broad ACLs (see in the list above).

Netdata was choosen for three reasons:

1. It worked on the first try.
2. The out of box functionality is impressive.
3. It was a new application we had not yet used and can fit into a variety of backends without hurting it's frontend.
